I read this C-novel around 3 years ago when I was still really into online games, probably as much as the Wei Wei in this novel so this novel got me interested right away. Because of my addiction to online games, I was totally biased and loved it so much. Thinking about it now, I don’t think it’s that great of a story because it’s a bit cliche but the Gu Man did a great job because she made a typical story interesting with the small details and the online game setting.
The main character is Wei Wei who is beautiful and smart. She really addicted to Dreams of Jianghu, so much that she’s one of the top 10 players. Like she would stay up all night to fight bosses and such.
The story started off with her being dumped by her in-game husband. Why? (she’s beautiful and smart) Well, the thing is that everyone thinks that she’s actually a guy playing a girl character since she’s so strong and good, unlike the usual girls (I totally don’t agree). So the husband dumped her to marry another girl who’s “beautiful”. (Too bad, she’s actually, even more, beautiful, I meant she’s famous beauty in her department)
So the main guy is Nai He Xiong appeared out of nowhere after and proposes to her and he’s the ranked number 1 player in the game. Although skeptical but she still accepted him.
While she doesn’t know his identity, he actually knows hers.
Eventually they meet, she comes to find out that he’s actually one of the popular guys in school.
Overall the story isn’t different and is cliche, overdone. The main male character is the typical over the top smart, handsome, can do everything.
I like Wei Wei though because she’s cool and into online games. She’s really funny too. And supposedly she has huge boobs (lol)
Their relationship is just adorable and cute, funny moments that Gu Man wrote that made the story.
And I’m really into novels with college settings. I guess it’s relatable because I’m in college, myself. Also, the game setting was done really well, most gamers would nod in approval but you aren’t a gamer then it might be a bit confusing.
It’s a sweet and fun read. No big obstacles and no tears, you probably get cavity though because it’s so sweet.
